GRAVES AT SEA are back, with a strong new lineup and new songs, and are an active band again. I managed to see them at least 8 times before their initial split in 2008, and I recorded them a handful of those times. This video here is my favorite, recorded by both Corin and myself on two cameras. Featuring the classic Graves lineup with Roger on bass and Steve on drums, the band pounded through a killer set with songs from each of their three releases. For people as nerdy about Graves At Sea as I am, there is even an unreleased song that was never recorded (and according to the band, never will). This song is called “Twin Sun, Drowning Moon”. I’d say there is a good chance you’ll never hear this song elsewhere, so get stoned as fuuuck and play it both loud and repeatedly. As an added bonus, the lights were left on for this set, no creepy dark lighting, and thus the picture itself came out vivid and clear. Seeing as all of my other Graves videos are pretty dark, I’m glad this one isn’t. Even the audio is pretty decent, which anyone familiar with Gilman knows can be a bit hit or miss, depending on who is volunteering to do sound that night. Everything came out pretty clear and even. Good audio, clear video, two camera mix, killer setlist, it all adds up to being one of my favorite videos of one of my favorite bands. And now we can share this with you, so please, get ripped and enjoy the fuck out of this.
